Home Care/Inpatient Unit/Rays of Hope Volunteers
Volunteers add a wonderful dimension to HospiceMidland. Our home care and inpatient facility volunteers receive excellent end-of-life care training before being assigned to any duties. Once the training is complete, volunteers are asked to commit to give 2-4 hours each week for a minimum of one year. Volunteers are caring people who would just like to make a difficult situation a little easier. They help the patient and family in ways that a friend or neighbor might help.
Some of these ways include spending time with the patient so that the care giver can run errands or enjoy a few hours of social time outside of the home. Volunteers also read, play cards, visit with the patient or run errands for the patient or care giver. Volunteers come from many walks of life and are all ages. We try to match them with patients and families by similar age, interests, geographic location and family needs. If you are interested in becoming one of our volunteers, please call the volunteer department at 432.682.2855.
The mission of Rays of Hope Childrens Grief Centre Volunteers is dependent on volunteer efforts. Training specific to working with children is provided several times a year. Please contact HospiceMidland or Rays of Hope for more information.
Volunteers are also needed to support office needs. A variety of volunteer opportunities are available. Volunteers are very appreciated.
HospiceMidland is always looking for volunteers who would like to help support our mission. Volunteering is a great way to get involved, have fun and meet other wonderful people.
If you are interested in becoming a volunteer for HospiceMidland or Rays of Hope, please call the volunteer department at 432.682.2855 or email hospicemidland@hospiceofmidland.org anytime, seven days a week and let them know how you want to help.
